Fannon tends to blow characters out of proportion, and Yuuka is one of the worst cases. Perhaps, some of us should think about whether Yuuka, Alice, or Reimu's personality works with a one word command.

Problem is, Yuuka canonically considers genocide as a game (or at least her PC-98 incarnation does), and even Shikieiki, the freking judge of the afterlife, regards her as so evil that her very continued existence is regarded as a sin (Phantasmogoria of Flower Viewing)! If anything, fanon tends to sugarcoat her, with all the 'Youkai Moe' and 'lonely Yuuka' doujin/webcomic strips out there.

Yeah...no. You've managed to take a single line about nothing good coming from having lived so long (or something to that effect) and added waaaay too much unintended meaning to it.
You are right about fanon suger coating her but you've course corrected to the extreme opposite.

Way to be a hypocrite and blow it way out of proportion...in the opposite direction. In what way does saying “It’s almost criminal how long she’s lived” equivalent to calling her evil? And do you even know anything about youkai? They feed off human emotion, the easiest to inspire and oldest of which is fear. Youkai have to constantly maintain a fierce reputation, stir up trouble, frighten, prank, and unsettle humans just to survive. And of course this extends into lies, rumors, misinformation, and bluffs as well. Frankly speaking, unless you have a reliable source or witnessed it yourself, don’t assume guilt, even if someone appears to have confessed, ESPECIALLY a youkai, who are conditioned from a young age to put on a strong front and bluff for all they’re worth, just to scrounge up enough fear to avoid wasting away. Alternatively, youkai can feed off of other emotions like gratitude, faith, and love, but they have a hard time resisting the instincts ingrained in them by the Lunarians. So for most youkai, they help and harm in equal measure. A drink shared after favors exchanged, followed by a cruel prank or scare is par for the course when interacting with humans.

WHOA. Hold up. I've heard mutterings of this, but I always figured it was some fanwork. The Moonies created youkai?
At the flower field where sunflowers bloom.Senseeei, bye!Goodbye! The change made was simply a personal note added by Hieda no Akyuu.Just a small 2 page note.
Even so, that was all it took for those that read it to start thinking. At the human village. They started to think about that woman they met."To inquire about Kazami Yuuka"Or even many other places."The threat level of youkai is becoming inflated."
"Humans are hardly ever eaten by youkai."
"Within the past 100 years, the relationship between humans and youkai has greatly improved here."Not too long after, the Perfect Memento was published in the outside world, and distributed throughout Gensoukyou.
The contents of which were not very different from the Perfect Memento before.... See you tomorrow.
