Yeah. I don't think she would have the heart to do this really.
I don't know what to think but I hope she doesn't have the heart to do it, I'm just generally bored of all the anime(and movie) protagonists being the goody-two-shoes who have to help everyone including their enemies who tried to kill them for the last 20 episodes like they have hero complex.
Righteousness and stupidity doesn't have to always go together.

The only time Satsuki tried to kill her was when she went berserk. Every other time she just seemed to be pushing her just enough to grow. It seemed to me like Satsuki always had confidence Ryuuko would survive if not succeed, and if she didn't, she wasn't worth keeping around for what was to come. She even went soft on that line and saved her life at one point, too.

What joke? This image is not a joke, the situation this image refers to in the anime is not a joke, the cliche I'm referring to is not a joke and I don't see anyone in this discussion here saying a joke.
Please be more specific if you're just going to downvote someone because he/she talked criticisms against something you like because without proper communications you're just making things worse.

I know Satsuki never really aimed for Ryuuko's life, nevertheless for Ryuuko to instantly go "oh now you're my sister, I'll ignore all the things you did to me and help you now" still seems odd, considering how she treats her full-time allies like Aikurou and Tsumugu with certain levels of aggression(comedic or not she was still willing to fight Tsumugu to the death without Senketsu even when he confirmed to her that he is there to help).
Thing is "I've only met this person just now/this person was be my greatest enemy for the last 10 episodes but I'll still help him/her without any reason other than I'm just that much of a good guy" had been a big anime and movie cliche that I already saw too much of. I'm not bashing the trope itself, only how it is overused as a convenient way to establish how heroic your character is.

Even if that's true, the question is "would Ryuuko think that." Of course Ryuuko could save Satsuki because she recognizes that Ragyo's more than she could handle alone.

You're wrong.
Ryuuko only viewed Satsuki as an actual enemy until the elections event. After that, Satsuki was no longer enemy #1, but someone who just pissed Ryuuko off the most due to her differing ideology. Satuki was always the one to challenge Ryuuko and force her to grow. Even Ryuuko realized her growth came from Satsuki. In that sense, Satsuki was always playing the big sister role in the series. Everything in media is cliche. What matters is how they go about it. This isn't an enemy-to-friendship moment. This is a big-sis, little-sis moment.
