I've been contemplating the idea of the next Madoka sequel doing a timeskip, with Sayaka having an alternate lengthy hair style as the prime indicator.
Part of me really likes the idea, as it establishes that Homura has managed to run her new world unopposed for years now; all the girls have grown into a comfortable living, oblivious to things around them, save for Sayaka, who has grown battle-hardened as she continues to stand against Homura in solitude.
It would be a heck of a way to start a new story arc, and the already-juggernaut marketing blitz would only increase ten-fold with the new designs.
The only issue is that I don't think a lot of people would be down with the concept of the characters being older, as timeskips tend to fail more often than not. I still think Urobuchi and Shaft could pull it off though.
But maybe this is all a distraction from how conceptually lovely long-haired Sayaka looks.

Eh, long hair let down like this obscures the face and neck, and I like to be able to see those on pretty girls. Not a bad idea though, far as story-telling and character development goes. But yeah, feeling a bit less than optimistic about time-skips ever since Rebuild of Evangelion 3.0.
