That's probably true. They did remake for them leafgreen/firered and them Heartgold/soulsilver. It'll probably in like a few 5 or 6 more years. When they envent some new game system/get an old game systme from japan and make more new pokemons.
There's no reason for them to remake Ruby and Sapphire because they have a way of connecting to Diamond and Pearl. Red, Blue, and Yellow were remade just because, and Gold, Silver, and Crystal have no way of connecting to them. Now they do, and every generation is connected.
Ignoring the incorrect assumption as to why Nintendo remakes older Pokemon games (it's to make mad cashmonies, naturally), if the DSi is set to replace the DS Phat and Lite, then soon R/S/E will no longer be compatible with Nintendo's handheld of choice, since there's no GBA slot. There's a reason HG/SS added every (non-event) legendary Pokemon that wasn't catchable in D/Pl/Pt, including the R/S/E legends.

And this is ignoring the DS2 that's rumoured to appear at E3. Once that's out, there's definitely going to be a R/S remake. And I believe it will be awesome.
