In a way this does work, as Giratina passes between the distortion word and the normal one. Yukari can basicly gap herself anywhere she wants so I'm guessing she can gap to the outside world aswell.
Yes, for it's species name. It makes perfect sense that the BOUNDARY Pokemon would be paired with the BOUNDARY Youkai. But that's just me.
And no not Palkia because that's space ONLY. It can't change boundaries or fiddle with them. Just control space. Same goes for Giratina; it can move between two places in time/space but it can't fiddle with boundaries.
That's a pretty superficial connection, if you ask me. Yeah, that's what its called, though its not really explained why. It could mean anything, and species names rarely ever do. It isn't stated or implied anywhere that it has any kind of control over them.
Palkia and to a lesser extent Giratina, on the other hand, have abilities that actually mimic or represent what Yukari is best known for: Gaps. In fact, 90% of her boundary manipulation is just space manipulation.
Slowpoke makes sense with Komachi though, they're both slow moving/lazy. I'm sure Slaking or Snorlax might work just as well, but Slowpoke is also a water type.
But who said anything about being serious? It's harmless discussion.

Kyurem represents the boundary between Yin and Yang, iirc (ie the other two dragons).
