The Lebel Model 1886 (French:Fusil Modèle 1886 dit "Fusil Lebel") is a bolt actionrifle that entered that entered service in the French Army in 1887, chambered for the 8×50mmR Lebel cartridge. It has a two-piece wood stock and a straight grip buttstock. The rifle's unique feature is a spring-loaded tubular magazine in the fore-end that holds eight rounds in it, one round in the elevator plus one more in the chamber.
