Again, Sheik is an alias of Zelda. In Ocarina of Time, Sheik was a guy, but now Nintendo had to change Sheik into a girl for Brawl. Have you used Zelda in Brawl or played Brawl for that matter?

You completely miss the point.

Proof, because everything point to the fact that Sheik was differently male in OoT.

Everything what? I shall ask you for proof that Sheik was a male in OoT... Sheik was more effeminate than LINK!! Sheik was Zelda in disguise! Is that so hard to understand?
It's not a transformation. In the description of the trophy in SSBB it's marked "she". . . In more its forms are very female nevertheless behind this disguise.

Because gender swapping is common very in Japanese media. Plus, there's this: post #501445 and if you think that's a girl then you shouldn't be allowed on the net. Then there's the manga were its out right said that Sheik is male.

Three big problems with this.
1)The Sheik in Brawl was based off of a deign that was going to be in TP and in no way proves that Sheik wasn't male in OoT.
2)Even if Sheik was male in OoT they could easily still call him a she because he is Zelda. Like someone calling Ranma's female form as "he".
3)Manga say that Sheik's male and that's closer to being canon then Brawl will ever be.
Also, what Sheik is is what we call a "reverse trap." Looks like a male, but isn't. Given that, any evidence that suggests she's a he is merely speculative.

You know what's funny about that? When I first played OoT when I was a kid and got Sheik's first appearance at the temple of light...I was like "...wait a sec..." and stared Sheik down for at least 5 minutes and the entire time, I could never tell myself "Those are pectoral muscles...", the model had it's differences from the artwork, much like any other game during it's final stages. This is a moot point since muscles can be found on woman as well as men...and I don't see a bulge anyways. It can't very well be used as an argument to your side.
Ether101 said: 2)Even if Sheik was male in OoT they could easily still call him a she because he is Zelda. Like someone calling Ranma's female form as "he".
The inverse cannot be denied either. It's hardly what I could call proof either way since characters could often make mistakes when seeing a character, Persona 4 had characters calling Naoto "He" for a long time after all.
Ether101 said: 3)Manga say that Sheik's male and that's closer to being canon then Brawl will ever be.
Manga said Impa would seal Zelda's consciousness and give her a boy's consciousness...where does it say it gave her a boy's body? Much like your earlier example with Ranma, female Ranma may have a boy's mind...but that doesn't mean she's a boy when it girl form.
Wait...why I am getting involved? There's absolutely NO proof that Sheik has a boy's body...AT MOST, she has a boy's mind and that's absolutely it...and even then, it's a stretch. Unless Nintendo flat out says it's a genderswapping spell, then it will always remain nothing more than an elaborate disguise that makes Zelda look less like a girl.
Manga said Impa would seal Zelda's consciousness and give her a boy's consciousness...where does it say it gave her a boy's body?
Your ignoring what Zelda said and the fact that Sheik is physically different then Zelda and has a male face. Plus, you'd have to be a fool to think that Impa would have given Zelda a male mind and not a male body to go with it because Sheik would, at the very lest, find it odd that he had female parts.
BakaHoushi said: Except the manga isn't canon. At all.
Neither is Brawl but people treat everything in it as an absolute fact only because it supports their argument. Now if the SSB "X" comes along as says that Sheik is male then everybody who uses Brawl as their one and only proof will suddenly be saying that SSB isn't canon.
You it said that some of the version of Melee state that Sheik is a he. Hell, I even remember this argument about how this one person thought it was a mistake that Nintendo considered the OoT manga as canon it went on for a long time yet no one ever said that they weren't which is odd.
Ether101 said: ...some of the version of Melee state that Sheik is a he.

Source, or these statements are complete bullshit.
this one person thought it was a mistake that Nintendo considered the OoT manga as canon
That's because it is a mistake. If the manga is canon, then Volvagia, for example, is actually Link's former pet instead of a legendary monster that terrorized the Gorons.
Not really, the manga are for the most part better then the games that they were based off and only the TC thought it was a mistake everyone else spent their time telling him how he was wrong.
LHSM said: If the manga is canon, then Volvagia, for example, is actually Link's former pet instead of a legendary monster that terrorized the Gorons.
Yet no one considers Kojima thinking that the MGS comic being canon is a mistake even thou they conflicted with the games is a big way. Plus, Volvagia was Link's childhood friend not pet.
sgcdonmai said: 1. You're not making sense 2. MGS doesn't really have anything to do with this 3. Please stop the shitstorming.
2. The whole MGS argument is that people except the fact that the MGS comics are canon but can't even accept the idea that the LoZ manga possibly being canon.
Ether101, you have to give us more proof that Sheik is really a male. Sheik is a female, but posing as a male. Sheik is actually Zelda in disguise and not a seperate character.
Sheik is Zelda in disguise. Whether Sheik is literally male or female in that form is debatable. Sheik is portrayed as a male, but is Zelda in a disguise. Either answer is possible. Although I prefer to think that Sheik is still female. After all, you only see her when you go ten years into the future so Zelda's body would of changed since you first met. So her upper body looking like a male isn't enough proof for me to think she is male. Her boys consciousness would make her want her body to look male, so she could of strapped down her breasts and started working out. It's been 10 years so it's possible.
You failed to answer your first "statement", which is of course false.
Ether101 said: Because gender swapping is common very in Japanese media.
While this may be true, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to generalize that about Nintendo. Sure, there may have been joke characters; but when it comes to serious characters like Zelda... let's say that it's a good thing she doesn't belong to Capcom. >_<!
Alright, I'm not going to read all of this, because let's face it, it's a horrible waste of time. Here is what I'm going to say.
Sheik is a girl, Sheik is Zelda disguised as a boy, Sheik is a girl who is disguised as a boy to hid from Ganondorf. Zelda would be easy to spot if she just walked around in her bright white an purple dress all the time. What is the best way to hid someone? With a disguise, get it? It's just a costume, a disguise, an apparently is was good enough to fool you ether.

ugaguy said: Aw come on! If this were true, then there wouldn't be any need to cover her face. She was covering it for a reason, you know!
Yeah, ninja need to have a reason to cover their faces. Plus, all of the art for OoT show that Sheik has a different build then Zelda and no one has ever been able to come up with a good argument against it because rapping doesn't broaden the shoulders or give them man packs or take away their hips.
ugaguy said: You failed to answer your first "statement", which is of course false.
Which I didn't have to because the person was saying that the second statement was a lie. The first statement was a rumor that seems to have some kind of backing but I've have never seen the prof hint the "supposedly".

It isn't generalizing, its the fact that its common so the idea can't just be dismissed. Secondly, there are plenty of non joke characters that are gender benders like Senou Natsuru. Plus, if Zelda's Shiek form was female it wouldn't have fooled either Link or Ganondarf because of the fact that they have heightened senses. You know what better then a girl putting on a disguise to look like a boy? Her actually using her god-like powers to turn herself into a boy. Why pretend when you don't have to?
And another thing, the only reason Poison and Roxy are gender benders is because of Nintendo.
Ether101 said: Yeah, ninja need to have a reason to cover their faces.
Explain Impa, then.

Same thing.

Because IT'S FREAKING NINTENDO! Besides, seven years under that? Please! Her voices of pain say it all, and it was obvious that Nintendo wanted to render the early artwork obsolete now that the secret is out.
Ether101 said: And another thing, the only reason Poison and Roxy are gender benders is because of Nintendo.
Wrong! Nintendo did NOT have to do anything with this:
Sheik = Zelda, It's not a spoiler because of Smash bros. Secondly Zelda use a high quality magic to change herself into a male. Sheik is in nearly all intents and purposes is a man. Nintendo created the reverse trap because they are made of win. Though it is open to opinion, I will still hold it in my heart that Zelda does it have it in her to completely change gender. .... :D
Sheik is Zelda therefore Sheik is female, because Zelda is female. Impa didnt have her face covered because EVERYONE knew she was a she... I think. Zelda was IN DISGUISE and tried to look like a man, not transforming into a man.
Birdo is a tranny. Poison is not because of nintendo, its because poison is a tranny. Sheik is a female in disguise. Period.

Read The Brawl trophy, Listen to the discussions, Sheik in Ocarina is a woman, Zelda does not have acces to God-like magic, Twilight princess is another story, the triforce of power makes it's bearer incredibly overpowered whenever, the triforce of courage is useless, and in Twilight Princess Zelda has incredibly powerful magic and wisdom. Unfortunately, though she IS a woman as sheik. read and listen.
How the fuck is anyone even slightly confused by this? I played the game once when I was about 15 and it was made incredibly obvious that Sheik was Zelda in disguise. Everyone else I know who played it when it came out also found it obvious. The very idea that someone could be confused about it is bizarre. It's like seeing an argument about "Did Bowser kidnap Peach in Super Mario World?"
Wow this thread is crazy. Well I admit it might be possible with the triforce of wisdom that she could use magic to actually transform herself, but I prefer to think its a regular disguise or an illusion and that she is still female. Also I don't care about anything that came out after the original game nor any artwork that wasn't official Nintendo art from like 10 years ago. That's because I doubt any of it was created by the same guy that created Shiek in the first place and any of them likely guessed his/her gender just as the rest of you are doing. In the original game there was no definitive way of knowing.
